At the office, women normally have their “kamustahans”, hi’s and hello’s at the comfort room. Last Friday afternoon, I had a chat with one of my officemates, also my badmintonmate, about her kids and summer. We all know kids nowadays attend to a lot of summer classes such as ballet, taekwondo, music, theater workshop, speech power (I think that was during my time) and camps. We recalled how simple life was when we were kids and somehow got very excited talking about our time as kids…how we played “siatong”, “patintero”, “tumbang preso”, “bahay-bahayan” and the like.
One thing I recalled was that I learned how to bike on a summer vacation when I was 10. My previous boss, who was listening to our conversation, joined and told us she also learned how to bike around that age. I quickly asked if the old adage is true about learning how to bike that “pag natumba at nasugatan ka na, siguradong matututo ka na at marunong ka ng mag-bisikleta”. My boss quickly answered, “totoo ‘yan, gaya sa pag-ibig!”. What a very good analogy ;)
